MPC vs Native Instrumets Maschine

I have an MPC 1000 and I make decent sounding beats on it but I used to make beats on FL STudio with just a mouse and keyboard that were pretty dope too. I've recently seen Native Instruments Maschine and it looks like the best of both worlds and I'm a digital electronics kind of guy. Anybody else got Maschine or heard anything about it compared to an MPC?

I had an mpc1000 then sold it for maschine. You will love maschine, thats guaranteed. But personally for me, idk if this makes sense, but maschine gets so repititive, the whole layout, and i still love it, but i miss my 1000. i would get it though.

Yeah but doesnt the MPC 1000 get repetitive too?

I think with MPC you use your ears more, I know for a fact that I don't use my ears as much when using Maschine. For me, in maschine it's like I have so much control I'm not creative. You will also be using software much more than you expect, alot is very tedious to accomplish on the hardware controller itself.

I used to use fruity loops 6 so it wont bother me as much with their being alot of software use! The MPC 100 is a good way to get the feel of the MPC down but after that u still need to transfer all of your beats to a DAW track by track! That suck when u can just click and drag the files from Maschine into Pro Tools to mix

True, i love that. Idk, im not gonna sell my maschine, because it has great workflow, but something about it becomes mundane repititve

making music is a process.. just know you will be more limited using a mpc compared to software.. only 2 master effects, and 1 effect per pad.. also think about the extra money you are gonna spend on a 1000. CF card, RAM upgrade, cables, HDD, and the highly recommended JJOS upgrade. and if you buy an older model you might be looking into possibly upgrading the pads..

Thats less expensive then a computer capable of running Maschine though. Viruses on the computer can drag down Maschine as well. I copped a good condition 20gb hd, max ram mpc 1000 for like $400 and thats expensive!

what are the system requirements of maschine, if you are running the cpu hog pro tools you shouldnt have any trouble running maschine..

Imagine pro tools and maschine as a plugin, that takes a sturdy CPU with atleast 4GB ram. I have a Q6600 at 2.4GHZ with 2gb ram and I hiccup like crazy! It might be my PSU though, may not be powerful enough.

man, if you know how to run your setup you can for damn sure pull it off with that PC setup.

I know because I have a computer with a Q6600 2.4 (not even overclocked to 3.6 like you can if you wanted to) with 2gb of ram... and I can run a lot with no issue. I have tracks with 15 virtual instruments playing at the same time and over 100 megs of wav loaded into ram at the same time... and it runs fine. Obviously if you have piles and piles of other background apps going it will take up system resource and make things hang...
