i tossed my maschine when i heard of the rennasance coming but did not think it was gonna take forever like august to drop so im kinda getting impatient and need a drum mashine. But the thing i loved about maschine was the sampling like each cop would be already assigned to each pad and i could get a feel of how i was already gonna lay down the chops. The mpc 1000 which i had for a few days was not like this and the region i was on was assigned to all 16 pads while on that region until moving to the next region and made it kinda boring for me. so how does the 5000 stand up to maschines sampling if anyone has even been on maschine they will know what im talking about.

first of all man, the 5000 dont need a computer to run.

2nd, the machine doesnt sample, the PC does, the machine controls it.

mpc samples.

MPC is a computer, an extremely limited one at that, housed inside the controller box. Maschine should be looked at as a system where the computer and the software brain resides on a dedicated computer that the hardware controller is attached to. So Maschine as a system, which cannot be confused for just the hardware controller or just the software, does sample, and the actual experience of using it does not feel at all like the typical MIDI controller being used with software that still forces you to use the mouse and stare at the computer screen.

JJOS2xl works like that on the 1k and 2500. 8)
To use a 1k with the Akai OS doesn't even mandate evaluation.

LMAO Akai is nowhere near having a finished product. There was no way they would have had something ready by the summer which was just wishful thinking. Akai was just forced to cancel a hype event in Leeds and admitted that they won't have anything ready for at least another 6 months from now, which, given Akai's recent handlings on such things, means it's most likely not coming out this year at all.

I said Maschine 3x the other day and you didn't appear. WTF?

6 months would mean September. I guess we are on the same page because I guess-timated between Aug and Oct based upon Akai's recent handling of MPC releases. Both the MPC 5000 and 2500 came out late Summer/Early Fall.

As long as the MPC Ren is released by Sept 21, Akai will meets its projection for a Summer release. :P

If you have any inside information that you can share regarding the release dates, please do share.

don't listen to emptysea nor jah... EVER.

each of their opinions are so biased it's ridiculous.

one works for native instruments as the maschine's mascot... the other is a cheerleader for the new line of still unreleased AKAI products.

it's hard to take anything coming from either one of their mouths/keyboards seriously at this point.

only you can really know what you want... if you didn't like the mpc1000 then i highly doubt you'll care for the 5000... if you sold the maschine to get one of the new [wack in my opinion] software MPCs... then i guess just hold out for that... but seriously... they're nothing more than software controllers... so if you liked the maschine just get another used one and stick with that for now.

Never listen to me unless you want to know the truth about a product. You will find that there are many forum members on this site that defend their purchases (whether its Akai or companies that produce competing products). You will find many forum members on this site that go out of there way to hate on anything Akai does (see crossings).

Only listen to me if you want to know the truth about a particular product. I only discuss products that I actually own unlike so many here. When the MPC Ren is released, you can read my threads which will detail my likes and dislikes. My reviews on the MPC 1000, 2500, 4000, 5000, MV-8000, and Maschine can be located in this forum.

If I had no hardware MPC...and I was looking to add one to my studio, my first choice would be the MPC 2500. An MPC 3000 would be my first choice if it had the operating system and storage capabilities of the 2500; just a pipe dream.

see what i mean? don't listen to this douche... just because i haven't jumped on the bandwagon praising some products that still haven't even been fully developed, he's calling me an akai hater.

if i hate akai's products so much, why do i own 3 different mpcs then, jah? do you even have that many?

i just refuse to get all excited about some software controllers which don't even have finished software yet.

he claims he always tells "the truth"... more like spit speculations.

I did take a look at the jjosxl manual and it seems that it can do just about everything that maschine can expect maybe audition sounds on the fly one pad. But still think the 2500 might lag in speed compared to maschine just cause of button pushing and menu diving but practice should make things faster. The mikro might be a solution for portablility but i need a rock solid piece that doesnt crash which maschine has plenty of times and the midi on maschine isnt so great with ghost notes i get and dragging each sound to pro tools is longer than tracking i think. So yes the 2500 limited edition looks very sexy to me and just might be what i need. I love working on hardware with fast browsing and the only exception vsts i have are absynth, omnisphere, sylenth, and jupiter 8 but i can still utilize this even with a hardware device, i just would not know how to set up a mpc,2 modules and pro tools.

You don't drag each sound. You can export all sounds of each group at once into Maschine's Recordings folder (or any folder of your choice). And of course you can drag all of the sounds in that folder into a DAW all at once. It's laughably fast and easy compared to the hassle and the tedious waiting process of tracking out.

Are you serious? Okay wait so u have to do a group drag? Dam okay well i think i assumed u couldnt do this cause when i went to drag a single sound with all the other sounds in the group i just got one file with all the sounds in it.

No, you're not forced to do it only one way. Sounds like you need to RTFM. You have a lot of options.

When drag and dropping directly from Maschine's interface into a DAW, you can drag single sounds separately (by utilizing mute/solo as needed) or a bounced mix of the entire group if you prefer. And like I mentioned above, you can do Export Audio which puts all separate sounds (or separate group mixes or a stereo master, depending on your preference) of your entire arrangement or just a loop range, into a folder for you to drag and drop into a DAW.

Maschine can export as WAV or AIFF files in 8, 16 and 24 bit depth. And like I said, you can export all separate sounds (or separate bounced group mixes or a bounced stereo master, depending on your preference) of your entire arrangement (so for example, separate tracks of each group across all scenes) or the same for just a loop range.
