My friend is thinking of getting a 2000xl from a pawnshop. anyways i already have a 1000 so could i email him some of my .SEQ and .PGM files ? will it load onto his machine fine ? id like to ideally be able to swap files through email and everything loads fine on both machines. is that possible?

Ok so sounds like our best bet would be for projects to originate on the xl then possibly load them in the 1k for maybe some finishing touches? anyways thanks for the help tutor

lol..i was wondering this same thing.. just ordered a 2000xl and own a 1000, and a 500..this is good to know. thank you  so tutor, if i upgrade my 2000xl to run cf cards and i hotswap the cf card into my 1000 will my 1000 be able to read the 2000xls cf card, or do we need to be transferring via usb???

Yes, should read the card fine, formatting it in the 1000 should make sure its compatible with both.

But yes, 1000 back to XL is a pain. Still don't know why Numark continue to ignore 2000/3000 export as an option in their MPCs, the file specs have already been reverse engineered and are public knowledge. Just a bare bones export would be better than nothing.

One day, I'll make an app that does the lot :)

yea, i mostly use my 500 over 1000, and sometimes hotswap to the 1000 to get my start time right on, but i love the feel of my 500 more. i got a pimpin 1000 though, its not like its run down, the 500 just feels right.. but if all else fails at least at least its a sampler, so u can always sample the parts in and chop em up and relay em..lol...i find myself just sampling my computer audio then hooking up a usb cable and transferring it, its just faster for me to sample it..
