what makes the drum sequencing on the 2000 xl good compared to other machines?

The 2000xl has 300,000 note/event capacity. The 2000 classic only has 100,000. You can also use more than 1 PGM at a time on the 2000xl, The 2000 classic is only limited to 1 at a time. The 2000xl file system allows folders. The 2000 classic is limited to the root directory.

In terms of capabilities and the functions that are available, the new Mpcs blow the 2000 series out of the water. There is much more you can do with the new software integrated controllers.

However my 2000 classic does what I need it to do and gets the job done nicely. If you use the quantized swing, you may notice that the older machines swing slightly different than the new ones. My classic even swings different than my old xl did when using the same swing settings.
