Hi I was hoping someone could help me in regards to sound quality between the three Mpcs I mentioned. I need to know what they actually sound like. Because the 4000 or at least mine sounds terrible. The 2500 I had sounded great when I would resample a full song out of it. (I make the whole song in the mpc without tracking it out.) Does anyone else do this and know what I'm talking about? I do the whole beat and vocals in the box and resample it as a final wave. The wave quality on my 2500 sounds great but the wave quality on my 4000 sucks. Does anyone know what the 5000 sounds like?

that doesn't sound right to me.. the 4000 should never sound worse than a 2500.

I was surprised to hear that too.

If I remember right the 5000 has a stiff sequencer. The 4000 does too but the functions kind of cancel it out. I only used the 5000 less than five times at guitar center years ago. The sequencer kind of reminded me of the 4000s. The 2500 has a good sequencer but the sample time is too limited.

You might be trolling me Mr.debauchery but sarcasm gets lost on the internet.

what sarcasm and trolling? the 4000 has 24 bit 96khz converters, or am i wrong?... unlike any other hardware MPC... the 500, 1000, and 2500 have pretty regular plain jane 16 bit 44.1 converters (considered pretty lack luster compared to any other model in most comparisons)... which sound more transparent than the ones on the 3000, 2000, and 2000xl (as well as most of the s-series machines) .. even the 3000 with 16 bit converters it's considered the best sounding out of any of the 16 bit machines...

but if we want to talk about what is lost on the internet, it would be the subjectivity of what sounds good or terrible. Unless of course maybe there is a problem with your machine or something.. so that is why i said i found it odd to hear that a 4000 sounds significantly worse than a 2500... at it's worst it should sound pretty close to the same.

Oh I'm going off the response handle. Anyhow the 2500 sounds better than the 4000 or my 4000 in particular. I haven't found out if it's just my mpc or if it's just the 4000 series altogether.

4000s usually sound pretty good imo it may be your 4000 in particular

No one on this forum is allowed to be sarcastic but me.

@dope that's probably true. However does anyone have a wave comparison for the three mpc models i mentioned for sound quality?

go to the mpc comparison section of the forum and look to find some of them. There have been many over the years.

I've never understood why people bother seeing which one sounds best.
I've never ever been curious about that one thing.

@Lamp dog you being serious or is it more sarcasm? I mentioned in a couple posts prior in this same thread that I am bad at sarcasm over the internet.

How the hell is he being sarcastic. Do you know how many of you people sign up and talk about which sampler sounds the "best" like they really believe, the tool to make music some how is going to compensate for the ability they lack to suddenly make hot beats?

The beauty of a Mpc is how it sounds some more grittier than others that's what makes them what they are... Yes the models will sound different but I've heard many HOTT tracks from all. It's what you do with your machine that matters JUSSAYIN
