I've heard that the MPC3000 had the nicest sequencer, even though it has a note capacity of 75,000?

The 2000 has 100,000, and the XL had 300,000.

So my question is, isn't the higher the better? Which 2k has sequencer feels nicer to you? I understand that it's subjective but a lot of people agree that the 3k has the best one so that's why I wanted to ask.

3000 is tight on the sequencer, but the 2000 and 2000XL is dope. 2000XL is my favorite MPC other than the Live.

2000XL and 2000 is basically the same. The 2000 in order to turn it on you had to insert OS floppy disk. Plus it had a bad priblem with the screen going out. The 2000XL was the newer version where you didnt have deal with the craziness. It also had a few features that the 2000 didn't have.

I think I'm aware of most the differences between the classic and the XL. I was just asking about the sequencer. Maybe I misunderstood how they meant "tight". I thought I heard that the 3k sequence was really great, but the way I was thinking, it'd be inferior to the other ones... :hmmm:

the 4000 has the best one you could probably say (out of the legacy models)... and the 60 with vimana OS is decent too... the difference between the 2000 and 2000xl is just that midi event limit ... you have do to a lot to max that out. I have only ever done it on the 60, which has 60,000 events.

Gotcha.
From the 60 to the 4000 the sequencers are tight. Really no difference.
My Live sequencer is tight right now at 2.7.2.
As the versions kept coming it got better.
