The 3000 does a hell of a lot less than the 2000XL,
but it sounds fantastic. No waveform editing, different
interface in most regards.
But another upshot, and yall correct me if
I am wrong, but the 3000 does four midi outputs vs. the
XL's two, no?
The 4000 does a hell of alot more than the 2000XL,
and sounds better than the XL as well.
3000 vs 4000, I dunno. If you don't mind doing simpler
program creations, and you are all about the grittier drums,
and great sound, maybe the 3000 is for you.
If you want variable realtime
filters, fast loading, file options, expandability, etc.
then go with the 4000 instead.
If you can give someone a 2000XL for a 4000,
even if you have to give them cash on top,
maybe up to $700 as a good deal, I would do it.
