Which one? Cause I've read about both of them and from the looks of it the MV-8000 seems a winner...

What is it about the MV8000 that makes you want to use it verses the MPC4000

Off top, I would say synthesis. Roland has been making solid synths and keyboards for yeeeeeears. Akai on the other hand has the sampling drum machine circuit on lock, but can they deliver quality synth patches, etc.?? I have not done much research on these two machines, but I am assuming one of the perks is built in synth sounds, etc. and on that note...you'd just have to go Roland, no question.
