Hi, i worked with a mpc1000.. but never really with another mpc.. can someone tell me what the main differences are between step- and grid edit?

yo in the step edit you only have a list of events. in the grid edit you see the events in a grid (in function of TC).

grid edit looks like a cubase piano roll or drum page.

except there's no mouse, and your "cubase" is stuck on a QVGA sized screen.

it has never seemed very useful to me.

Grid edit is very usefull on the 4K. Especially when putting together drum beats or chord progressions.

I barely use step edit, haven't really figured out any advantages with it. Maybe cus I went from Cubase to my 2500, from piano roll to grid edit isn't that big of a step.
