nope..i mean if you want 12-bit, get a rack sampler like a S900 or S950. Those came with filters, not like the 60. And you already have the 1K to sequence.

The 60 is a great machine, but it is really old skool now, you will be cursing the floppy drive and slow processor unless you used one before and know it's limitations. At any rate, if you fancy one, just buy one, you can always sell it again if you aren't feeling it. Less thought, more action!

or just get the 2500

honestly, the 60 is outdated no matter how you put it. Sure someone can jump in and say they like them because they're vintage and all that. But if you're familiar with the 1000, and only dislike its pads, get the 2500. 2500 and a rack sampler like S950 is enough for a while.

You're already interested in the 60, and I'm sure it's good reason if you're considering that over newer models. I own a 60 mkII and it's awesome. Give it it a try and if you don't like it chances are it'll sell for more anyway.

options - fix the 1000 pads and or buy a mpd16, use plugins or sp303/404 for 12 bit sound

probably not worth getting the 60 this late, considering the price

ant im coming from a mpc 2000..the pads are so shyte when compared...even brand new..the whole pressure nd velocity sensitivty of the 1k pads are weak...the mpd pads arent the greatest either...i have my sensitivity set to 1 on the 1k just so i can play em properly...imma either go 60II or mpc 4000...

fixyourpads

they are definitely sh!tty when they're broken, no joke
go into guitar center and look at the ones on display, it's pathetic
1st gen mpc1000s got the shaft w/ pad glue
2nd gen 1000s got a slightly better deal w/ em

but regardless if you fix em you won't have the same problems

If you got the money get it. But if you want to get the 12bit sound then follow the advice above get S950 to sample and use the 1000. Remember the most important part according to MPC Tutor and it is true about the MPC series is the sequencer.

MPC 60 sequencer hmmn don`t want to start a flaming post it a classic. Nice and tight.

I got the 1000 too but....................... :(
