What would YOU choose

Here's the deal.After some search on Ebay,I found these 2 auctions Im interested in:a used 1k with 500 Euros(~630$)and a NEW 2500 with 1180Euros(~1480$).So,what would you choose(note that I am a beginer,this will be my 1st MPC)?Please help me decide.

i would choose the 1000. With the new JJ OS, you defiantely dont need to pay nearly double the price for the 2500.

If you have the money get the 2500 you won't regret it.

I am sure I won't regret it.Whichever I decide,I will get it used(thats why im worried about the 1k's pads)

Yeah......I understand your concern about the pads. The 2500's pads are bigger and IMO the pads are more responsive to soft taps.

If your on a budget go for the 1000 with the JJ OS.

I just buyed an UNOPENED 2500 for $1450.Please tell me my choise was the right one.

I'll help where I can, but then again I'm still learning things myself.

Well until 2 days ago I would have said: GET THE 1000 WITH THE JJ OS and you'll be aight. But since I got my 16 channel Mixer I am Like GIVE ME 8 Outs... Man thats such a major major issue about this machine, that really bothers me. But if you think you don't need those get the 1000.

ABOUT THE PADS_
The MPC 2500 Pads are the same as in the earlier MPC's. They are very cheap if you want to change them. Like 16 Dollars. For the MPC 1000 one piece costs like 8 Dollars per Pad and the whole set cost like 105 Dollars at VST or how it's called.
Yes the MPC 1000 pads are a little smaller. I tested the MPC 2500 pads a few days ago at my local instrument dealer and I though yeah they are bigger, but I didn't found that they would feel so much better. I think it does not make any difference in production. I got small hands and stuff, so that does'nt bother me. And the sensitivity thing is not an issue to me. I always use FULL LEVEL and if I want to change the Velocity of a Double Kick for Example I just Use VELOCITY on the 16 Level Tip, nahmean?!

So if you plan to build some sort of a production environment with a lot of hardware and stuff I would suggest you to get a mpc with more then 4 outs... If you just want to work on the mpc only or want to track it with a DAW just get the MPC 1000. It's the easiest and cheapest way to enter hardware production. Besides that the 2000 is cheaper, but you don't have USB function and the option to build in a Harddisk...

Like I said starz, the 1000 and 2500 have the same basic functions but the 2500 has a more comfortable feel, you will be happy with your purchase, so congrats on the purchase and welcome to the MPC family.

keep the 2500 , it has a cd bunner which is nice to have haha .... plus if u get a 1000 used the pads are goin to be harder to replace like stan steez stated.
