is a 4000 worth the extra$$

i got a 1000 already but should i fork out the money and step ut to a 4000. is it worth it?

I never regreted paying the $2200 I paid for my 4k. In my opinion (IMO), it was worth every penny. What you'd be paying for is a sampler, drum machine, & synth/sound module.

synth sound module??

The 4k is the only mp tht allows u to play key groups as a rack mount sampler... hook up a midi board, load a piano, string whatever sample program and you'll get it srt8 out. It have a piano roll graphic editor for inst ype tracks and graphic display for ur drum type tracks...

The 4k is well good to me, even i don't use keygroups tht often!

im doin the same , savin up for the 4k i know its worth every penny ! its the dopest mpc ever made !!!!!!

i had a 4000 and it was amazing but i shortly realize i dont use half the features so i sold it got a 1000 sold that got a mpc2000xl and feel so comfertable with it

It was the only peice of gear i had at the time so i sold it and bought a Mpc1000 and a E-MU PK-6 And pocketed like 500$

now i got a mpc2000xl mcd and a korg triton le(found it for 250$)in the box

Man its beautiful if you really use all those features and you trying to do all genres of music

if you doing hiphop then you can be good with a 1000 and put the cash towards more sounds or mixing...trust me

what kind of processors are in 4000s?

sounds good ... haha i got the triton Tr the upgrade of the le , but i wouldve jus kept the 4000 if it was jus me ... if u got the triton off the selling of the 4000 id say thas ok ...

Please 4K are not that hot....

@KXL for life not to mention its takes like 2months to learn as a pose to a 1 year for the 4K too many features that arn't that use full...

also you might as well get a mv8000 off of ebay for like 1500

instead

4k is easier to use than the mv. dunno about taking a whole year to learn

i'd think that it'd be better to have a variety of machines instead of just the 4000 as it'd vary up your threshold a bit, but then again i'v never composed, only explored on the 4000.
