are the features the same... on the new os?

i want the old school pads
i want 8 outputs
i want D.REC on all tracks....
and i still want all the features of my 1000 .. ..im sure Jahrome knows.

are they compatible with each other?

and ALSO.. is there a pgm creator for the 2500 such as bluebox.

I would also like the bigger pads and 8 outs and most of all direct record without any flaws. Im gonna upgrade when economy allows me to, but so far im liking my 1k more than my old 2kxl when it comes to workflow.

so the PGM's are readable by both 1000 and 2500? thats an important one to me....seein as how ive spent two years on the 1000 choppin pgms.

Actually.....there really is no need to go there anymore (although I will from time to time).

But both the MPC 2500/1000 are basically identical machines. Its silly to argue about prices. You get what you pay for (IMHO). If you find value in the additional hardware of the MPC 2500..than that is the machine for you. If you feel that the hardware of the MPC 1000 is more than enough for you...go for it. Don't let anyone talk you out of it. As long as you do your research...personally test out both machines...you will get the machine the suits you...

yeah once the code drops for the 2500 we're talking about one incredibly murderous duo.

what do you guys think the code is gonna be like if say akai did release a 3500 for namm?

it'd have to be way better than the jj os to warrant the prices they'd be charging for it. i wonder if they could pull that off...it'd be a real feat but who knows what might come out of the hat.

So what's the NAMM update anybod attending? I see Roland released the MV-8800, I think this is gonna be my time to switch. I played with the 8000 and I liked it, be a great tandem with the 8800 as for sound manipulation the 1k as a sequencer. We'll see

If you switch to an MV-8800..there is really no reason to have an MPC..it does the exact same thing and quite more actually.

Korg released a new keyboard sampling workstation....Roland also released a sampling/synth...
