yo ya'll i'm about to purchase an MPC... blap.

so the 500 and 1000 are only a couple of hundred different price wise, wanted to know what ya'll would suggest? a little advice maybe...

my instincts say the 1000...

all help appreciated...

for start, you should read these 500 forums. there are some topics here with the same question. so why start a another one.

Speaking for myself: I have worked with the 1000 one night, but ended up with a 500. I like this box more, it was not about the money. The quality of sound is the same, and you have to decide if you want to chop samples by seeing the waveform, or by ear (500). the 1000 is more a standalone unit I think, but I think you own a pc to, and programs like recycle, adobe audition etc. are quicker than chopping on a 1000, 2000 etc.

Having the 500 for over a month now, I would not trade it for something else. i think it's the easiest sampler out now with the capacity to make pro level music.

i think the 1000 would be a better first mpc cause theres less menu navigating which makes it a little easier to understand and faster to work with. if u put price and portability aside, the 1000 is the more complete machine like dj proces said. the 500 is almost as dope but not quite

If you go for the 1000 be prepared to change the pads before too long.
