16 Pads of 2kxl, 1k and 2.5k!

Is there any difference in the sound of 16 pads for note variation of those three mpcs?

all mpc pads use resistive sensors, but every mpc but the mpc1000 uses a better type of resistive sensor (fsr)

Sorry, the question is, if I put the same sample into each of these mpcs and then press 16 pads-note variation, will the pitch shift of the sample have the same quality on all the mpcs or is any of them better than the other? I hope a I made myself clear now, thanks

yeah the 1k and 2.5k's pitching algorhythm will sound exactly the same. the 2000 may sound different.

some older rack samplers are said to sound much better under extreme pitching. i wouldn't know.

I plan on upgrading from my XL to 2500 and i am a bit worried that pitch shifting will not sound as good as it sounds on the XL. On my Asr, it sounds even better than on the XL, you can slow the sample down and make it an octave lower and it still sounds great. How different is the XL from 1k and 2.5k?

dunno. i think the newest ones sound fine but a side by side comparison would be best

I've noticed that it sounds best or most "real" on the 60, believe it or not. My 3000 sounds pretty close to my 1k, though. At least in that aspect.

Both the 1000 and 2kxl have problems with the note variation.

I think the main one is that the sequencer only records 1 note release at a time from 16 levels (my diagnosis based on hard thought), so the 2nd of two overlapping notes is usually cut off. On the 1k the sound cuts off as you play it as well which is more annoying but maybe more accurate to what it records? well anyway neither one is very good, at least compared to an actual program. Lovable and usable for sure, but if you are trying to find an improvement in that regard between the 2 machines i don't think you will.

The pitch/quality differences between the 2 i never noticed.
