note repeat question on mpc's

Is there a difference in the note repeat on the mpc2000 versus the newer models like the 2500,500, basically what i want to know is do you still hold the note repeat button down along with the pad you want to repeat or do you just hit the note repeat button once then the pad you want to repeat? Thanks in advance for any help

I had 1k and 2000XL, there was no difference at all. I highly doubt there is any difference between the other models.
