hello, newb here with... suprise! a question!

2 questions actually...

I am condidering purchasing an MPC and was wondering

1. Do the MPC's come loaded with stock sounds? or am I to supply any and all sounds? Product descriptions on Akai's site don't mention anything regarding this matter.

2. My main use for the MPC is as a drum seqencer slave to Logic. Will a 500 or 1000 be suitable for this? Is there an older model I could buy used that would be suitable as well? My assumption is that the 2000/4000 would be much more than I need?

The MPC comes with a bank of factory sounds, but they are no good at all. I highly doubt someone uses them. The MPC 500, 1000, 2500, 2000XL can surely be slaved to a software program (the only ones I had my hands on) but I think all the other MPCs should be capable of that too.

so a 500 would be more than adequate then?

I like that the 2000/4000 have 8/10 analog outs, but not sure if that alone justifies forking out the extra cash

Ok, some people may use them, but I don't think they are good. At least not the ones loaded in the mpc. There are some usable sounds on the 128 CF that comes with the new mpcs though, I did forget to mention that.

any mpc can do what u want. now figure out how much cash u want to put down, and what features you find useful and pick one from there,
