lose a 2000 for a mpd 24?

should i sell my mpc 2000 for a akai MPD 24 is the MPD 24 easier to use cuz the 2000 im a lil tired of loading & all that with it....help me out????

I was thinking about it a few weeks back, but now I think of it as just a bad day for me back then... I mean, it's a good piece of hardware and I wouldn't sell to get mpd24. You can always hook up your mpc to the PC and controll soft with it. No need to switch and this way you can avoid long time loading etc.

the mpd is nothing but a midi controller.. the mpc is far much more..

if you have the money to get the mpd and keep the 2000 here is what you do...

sell your 2000 and take the $200 (or less depending on how much you sell for) that the mpd would have cost and step up to a 2000XL and track down the cf card upgrade for it.

then the loading to and from the computer or just loading time/storage in general is super fast and easy compared to the 2000.

i had a 2000 for years (99-05) i loved it, but i hated the whole floppy/zip/scsi situation. i was on a PC and windows would ruin my zip disks, i couldn't simply hook it up to the computer via scsi, i feel your pain. i ended up selling it to buy something else (a rhodes, which i love) but i missed having an mpc for like 2 years.

i picked up a 1000 a week and a half ago and have fallen in love all over again. i gotta tell you if my 2000 had been as easy as using CF cards i would have never sold it. CF cards hold so much more and load so much faster it is unbelievable. the 1000 can do everything my 2000 could do an so much more.

NOOOOO. Keep your 2000. The load time might suck, but I know of full albums made on the 2000... The mpd24 cant do that bro!!!

buying an mpd if you plan on keeping your classic doesnt make any sense..

the classic acts as both an all in one box AND a midi controller. dont get caught up in being a gear whore.. the OG intergrates perfectly with pc's and software and is really all that you need.

now if you planned on going strictly software, then i would think it would make sense to dump the mpc and get the mpd. but if youre going to keep the mpc, there really isnt a need for the mpd..

Most def keep the 2000. I have the MPD24 and I just copped a 2000 today........Have both if you can, but if there is a choice stay with the 2k or like cuz said move up to one of the other big joints.
