Mpc 3000 King Of Mpcs Yes or No and why?

Everywhere I read and everyone I talk to seems to always big talk the mpc 3000. I have always thought of it as old technology but it does sound good. I have been looking into a sampler for a few months now and right now I am sitting between getting a mpc or an ensoniq sampler. I love that the mpc has pads but I love the sequencer on the ensoniq keyboard samplers plus having more note options is a plus as well. Anyway my question here is what makes the mpc 3000 more special than any other mpc I have always thought of the 2000xl as the standard and the 2500 as the standard of the future but everyone I have spoken with says the 3000 is king. Thoughts?

The 4000 is the undisputed king of all mpc's.

best sound=3ooo or 6o
I tried every MPC except the 6o before I got my 3ooo LE
and I'll never go back to any of them

why is this? I havent ever used a 4000 but everything Ive heard from it has been entirely too clean sounding. Feature wise I don't think it can be touched tho

basically you can get a dirty sound outta' every mpc. It isn't about the gear you use, more about your skills and records.

how would one go about getting a dirty sound out of a 24 bit 44.1 and above sampler? I really don't know how lol. If that were the case I'd assume the 1000 would be king kuz it does everything. I'm talking out the box also. Not with the aid of software or outboard gear ect.

which would you say is then? I am just curious after talking to a few different mpc heads I know the majority of everyone Ive spoken to have said the 3000 was number one followed by the 2000xl, 4000, and 2500 and finally the 1000. I know theres more but thats all i can really remember

depends i guess fami, me I would never buy a 4000, just seems overkill the the sample rate is not something i would want, god NO!!!

Iam stuck between a mpc 3000 or a 2000xl --- keep in mind i just got a Akai s950 - so regardless what iam getting, the drums and basslines will be banging out the s950 like seriously. in that way i might get the 2kxl for the wave editing etc.

ive always thought the 4k was overkill myself. most samplers nowadays are tho. hell with things like the mv8k around its only going to get worse.

for sure fam, I might just get a 2kxl and midi it up to my akai s950 keep it simple. got a proteus 2000 also for added spices.

reminds me of Kanye's setup only with a s950 instead of the asr but come to think of it he dont use his mpc for much of anything besides sequencing if I remember right. anyway I'm still in the market for my sampler of choice. Which is a big part of why I ask this question. I am in the market for a 12 bit sampler and I am on the fence between the EPS classic, Roland W30, the mpc 60 and the mpc 3000 (which I think is actually 16 but im not sure) any suggestions

the 1000 is king because it gives the people what they want, but can still be very Deceitful.

on the real, unless your into collecting gear, dont get that old overpriced overhyped 3000

i do like vintage gear but what makes the 3k over hyped? i am really looking for that old school crunchy gritty sound. I am not sure if the 1k is capable of that. And doesn't the 25k give people what they want also?

Iam familair with 12 bit samplers bro. I had a few and played with some my fiends own -

I got a EPS-M ( rack version ) Its actually 13bit, but its awesome. because of the options it has. If you get one get a rack version, the keyboards are not the best built and hard to find in good shape. get the rack version.

Emax SE - (rack ) I mean this when i say it. for the money, nothing is as grimy as the emax I - NOTHING!!! its the closest thing to the sp1200 out there, I got one also and will never sell it, in fact iam looking for another one.

Sp-1200 - nuff said but pricey, my friend has the grey version which gets hot like hell. for the money its alot man.

S950 - Just got it and havent dug in but sounds like my friends mpc 60 no way raw like the emax,

Mpc - 60 - my friend has one and pretty good system, he just uses it for drums but sounds very warm, .

W30 - dont even bother, heads that want to be different rock that, but i dont see te big deal with them, its like getting a sequential circuit prophet. too outdated plus few resources out there.

Emax - because of money Iam telling you the emax is for real.
