what are some recomendations ...

i want to start making the classic east coast beats that are full of samples.
the old school wu-tang type sound like in 36 chambers.
what MPC would be the best choice for doing this?

Well, if I were you, I'd go for the 4k or 2500. But come to think of it, I've always kinda looked well beyond my means. If you're gonna work with samples mostly & it's your first mpc, then go for the 1k.
