Hi all,

Im looking to buy my first MPC soon...

I was initially looking at either getting a 2500 or 4000...

however after visiting the forums i suddenly found myself craving a 3000...i think thats due to most peoples views on it.

i use my PC an awful lot when producing...So i really want something that i can use in some way with the PC...

The 3000 obviously doesnt have the PC compatability of the 2500/4000 but can anyone advise a way I could potenially use a 3000 with my machine?...perhaps linking it via another sampler or device...any ideas guys?

n.b. at the mo i have a base unit (pc) & focusrite 26 i/o audio interface...running fl7, reason 3, cubase

Also are the pads on the 2500 any good?...ive heard conflicting views on this.

Sorry for the long post...any help would be much apprceiated.

Peace

Check this out with loading & saving samples/files http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=85855&start=0. This is the only mpc that works like this.

I have both 2500 and 4000, if you going to use it along the side of your DAW then 2500 will suit you just fine.

Pads on the 2500 are good, there same pads you'd find on any other model of MPC, xept 1000.

3000 wouldnt be that bad for what you trying to do. Since it got no waveform edit, you chop samples on your PC and upload to the 3000. use it as your midi pad controlerl, an expensive midi cotroller!.

for me it would be between 4k or 2500, 1k. if you want 3k get a S3000 rackmount sampler. once you get either one of the newer MPC's you could look around for something vintage.

right now I'm waiting out for 4k replacement, I got a feeling if it is coming it will be towards second half of 2008 or sometime in the beginning of 09. if not ill will probably picking up another 4k.

only problem with 4000 is that it's not getting any OS updates ever again

for now I'm good with 2500 and Live

Respect for the info guys...

I think i might go for the 2500 then for now...

So were you saying to get a s3000 rackmount because it has the sound of the mpc3000 and is cheaper?
