My main piece is the sp1200/asr 10 combo, and occasinally i used a mpc2000xl, so i just had to see what the hype was about with the mpc3000. Yes it built better, it looks better,n I actually prefer to use it and get rid of the 2000xl,BUT as far as sound difference barely noticeable!! They both have a sh#ty ass low pass filter witch is only good for filtering basslines!!! The only one that is differnt from the rest is the MPC60(warmth,boombap bottom) Not to talk down on the other mpcs it just you can make hot beats on any of them.I see a lot of people wanting to swicth up there set ups because they think certain mps will give them a certain sound,no. Look towards asr10(best filters ever, warm colour) or sp or other gear. Peace Yall

Yeah you are bugging!!!!! The mpc 3000 has a different sound then the 2000/xl - let alone the newer toys 1000,500,2500 - the 60 is dope, but no filter!! - The 3000 is the mpc for me with the card reader, cant be beat. I also rock a s950 and asr10 - keep fooling with it, the hype is real. the filter is not bad either.

Yeah the 3000 sounds way different. The filter is dope on the 3000 I think. The 60 is cool too but no filters but if you cool with that you can work around it. ASR-10 with any mpc is a good combo just cause the sequencer is a little lack luster but you still make bangin shit on the ASR.

Yeah Iam a ASR10 user and had a 2kxl once, but the first thing i noticed was the sound of the 3000 - I hated the sound of the 2kxl -but hate even more the weak sound of reason and 1000.

Yeah it does sound better but not that much better than i thought it would be. Maybe its because I think the asr got the perfect all around sound. Sorry to offend you guys. The 3000 is the best and i will never go back to the terrible sounding 2000xl thats for sure

the 2000xl puts out what u put in.....so if u where putting in crap u will get crap... in a sense because of the converters in the 3000 it warms stuff up a bit. If you have a quality pre amp and a 2kxl you can create the same sound quality if not better than the 3000 alone.

The sound of the 2kxl is cold, the only way to make the sounds better internally is by using the eb16's eq. even then it doesn't sound perfect.
Glad i sold it.

I never had an mpc60/3000 before but it seems that these are the only machines worth buying.

because it's true. If there's anything to be said about the sound of the 2kxl, it's just puts out what you put in. Enough said.

Stop believing the hype, the 2k's and 3k's have the some type of converters.

I have a Mpc 500, and i don´t now how the 60 or the 3000 sounds, but the 500 sounds very neutral, like a good soundcard, and i think that is good so.

Because when i sample vinyls or my analog keyboards whatever, i dont want a coloration of a certain MPC sound. If i want warmth or something i record my samples thru a eq or preamp.

So what i am trying to say, it´s good that it is sounding neutral like a audiointerface.
