2000xl vs mp1000

hello.

thinking of getting one of these, was going to get a 1000, til i heard:

1)it doesn't sound as good as a 2000
2)the timings not as good.

anyone know if this is true or false?

They are pretty equally matched but the 1000 has a stiffer sequencer & the 1000 has effects and timestretching is faster on the 1000.

what do you mean by stiffer sequencer?

i had heard the mpc1000 just doesn't sound as good as the 2000 as it has diff converters etc?

has anyone A/B'ed a mpc1000 and a mpc2000?

Yeah they both sound pretty thin & weak. Well after I had used the 1000 for alittle bit when i went back to using the XL it was way more loose in terms of laying your drums down and stuff like that. But it's what you put into the machine is the end result.

not at all
there are very different parts used in both. soundwise, better or worse is moot when you consider the reality of post production's effect on overall sound, not to mention perform blind unbiased A/B comparisons.

i'm basically saying, though, that if someone chopped a break and sequenced a pattern on the mpc2000xl, he could then stand up, sit down behind a 1000 or 2500 and, with reference to the original, create the same pattern.
