Hi.
I used to own an MPC2000 (not xl) and a friend has just recently purchased an MPC1000. Anxious to show him the potential of his new machine I wanted to show him how to get some beats going quickly and then give them groove (swing) on the fly. I'm sure I remember being able to adjust both swing increment (50-75%) as well as note shift (earlier/later) to any track, whilst it was playing in realtime- which made the machine such a winner.
I went to do this on his new 1000...the only thing I could change in realtime was the time signature- no access to swing or note shift until you stopped the seq. playing, meaning you had to stop, adjust, play, stop adjust, play etc and keep having to guess where the swing you wanted was going to be and then listen to it and then stop and adjust again- I was shocked these original features weren't part of the latest os on a model 13 odd yrs younger. Am I imagining these features were standard in the old 2000s or is there a workaround/ os update for the new 1000s? Does the 'unofficial' os solve this? To me these were fundamentals which made these a classic in the first place. Any suggestions gratefully received
