Akai just made a flagship MPC, I doubt they are gonna release another one so quick.

I don't like the auto music maker button though, that shyt annoys me. It's doesn't convert mono to 7.1 as advertised, it's just splits to psuedo emulated 2.1 tracks and that's NOT what I bought it for.

Actually it is two 3500 (cough 5K cough) strapped together like a pair of 1200s. I love the "Beakjacker" feature where you upload a song and it samples and creates the midi notes for you can then make it all into a program. Very helpful when I am not feeling very creative.

I heard the new MPC will be a cartridge for the Nintendo DS --> MPC DS, you can paint melodys with your stilo and the mic acts as vocoder. you can also link several MPC DS for unlimited polyphonie...they also plan a Nintendo Wii version with integrated workout for our fat producer bodys

I really dig the feature where you hold shift and press f2 then select the "Jock Me" command where mechanical arms raise up out from the sides of the MP, and grabs everyone in the room by the head, forcing them bob and nod to the new wack beats I've created on it.
The new FX algorithms are the sh** too! Like the J-Dillanator, Dr. Dre-arraytor, DJ Quick-imeter, DJ Premierorizor, Madlib-alization, RZA-orionic boost & the Battle Cat-alyzer.
