Ya'll stop beatin these dudes up!! Not everybody is a vet, answer the man/kids

's or don't say nothin. All that neg energy about how you hate to mess with noobs and all, go beat off somewhere with that. And if you got a problem, music talks, BS walks.
www.myspace.com/overallmusickI must say, the MPC 2000 gives me the rawest feel (the best), and the 2000XL is different a little bit. I would rather lose the feel and gain the options, (get a 2500 or at least a 2000XL, pound for pound). All akai sequencers bang out, but not all producers/beatmakers can even load up a drum kit much less bang out some heat. In 2008, I would say get USB (2500) and the option to use more than one program per sequence (2000XL, 2500). No need to make a new drum program per sequence just cause the 2000 feel is a LITTLE bit better. Like I said, all AKAI's are made right, so keep up with the times and make your workflow environment easy (2500, 2000XL).
I feel the dude talking about the DMV, and don't laugh at him, you haters. If you whip out the MPC to pass time, get that drum track flowin with some pre-sampled heat, you could be laying the foundation of some bangers. Just add your MIDI and dump it to ProTools when your ready. I used to bang out in airports while traveling. I remember bad ass women always had to holla, lol.
With Reason 4.0 being so popular, you can buy ALL modules/keyboards for dirt cheap prices (compared to pre-virtual synths) and even find better deals on MPC's. Alot of the industry will not let go of the MPC, who wants to clickk when you can bounce and bang!!! BUT, hit up Craigslist.com. Don't fool with EBAY, it is very risky. Craigslist.com will not have as many listings, so you will have to check it every day and be patient. When you find what you want, you meet the person face to face, in your city, and look at what your buying. You will find some JACKASS who bought a bunch of STUDIO EQUIPTMENT and wants to CASH OUT and sell it for cheap. I promise. My advise though, make sure your not this same guy in 6-12 months after the FAD of making beats is gone.
As a 10 year MPC vet (3-1998: MPC 2000 purchased!!) I see a lot of fly-by-night producers with mama's laptop looking to "learn" how to make music/beats, get a youtube deal and live happily ever after. Thats fine, good luck. I refuse to be discouraged by the masses and mass confusion, as I know I am the truth and everything will come to light. You can't fake it out here, no matter how cool it looks to be a beatmaker or WHATEVER this fad is called-----
lol
