is there any way how to load old seq. (from OS 5.x)to XL OS?

hi,
after update to OS XL MPC plays nonsences - incorrect notes so with each note it plays incorrect sample ... i was trying to find out how to manage that .. i saw there is some incompatibility but does it really mean that i cannot play all sekvences i created before ?? (even i didn't change the pad assigns, i was just using original settings) .. there are years of work in old sequences ..

i hope there is a way how to load/convert them (for example with some pc utility) ..

sequences made in old versions of the os are incompatible with newer versions.

os 1 , os 2 , and os 2xl all have somewhat different features from each other so when you move a sequence from one to the other it will sound a little or a lot different (if it plays at all!).

best bet is to finish whatever you're working on in the os it was created in and start new projects in the new os.

ok, i found the way .. it's not the easiest but better to save my old material and have something to play ..

load 5.x OS, go to program editation (MODE+PAD11) ... here go pad after pad ... you see they are assigned as ..
A01- Cx1
A02- C-1
A03- Fx1
A04- Ax4
...

what you have to do is and reassign the notes to the pads so the notes will be ascending .. like this:
A01- C-1
A02- Cx1
A03- D-1
A04- Dx1
.....
then save the program and if you load it in OS XL .. it will work again .. maybe there willbe some differencies but for me it doesn't matter, if the samples fit the pad then it's ok fo me ..

it's a big job to do but i prefer to do that that to loose all my work ...

The midi note assignment has been changed in OSX

yes i know, but however .. if you change the notes in the sequence in this way and save the program in 5.x os, you can load it in xl os ...

Programs still have the potential to load a little funny, but yeah, changing the note mapping can fix a lot of issues like that. If I remember correctly OS2 -> OS2XL requires you to move all your notes up one semi-tone.

in fact, i am sure that some little utility could fix that .. unfortunately, nothing like that exists :/
... also in the programs - usualy not all pads are used so you can change just the pads which has sample assigned and it starts to sound a bit easier..
