Hey all, I have os2xl 1.13 for the 2500 here's my problem:

1. In program mode I go to the simult screen
2. set which pads I want layered
3. record to a track with layered pads
4. If I add another pad to the already recorded simult pads the newly added pads aren't added
5. I'm forced to manually record the new pad seperately from the others
6. On os1 I could just add new pads in simult mode and they would play along with what was already there

Hope this makes sense... Not sure if this is a bug or just the way things are I dont record with quantize on so its a pain to go back and get the timing just right when I wanna add more layers

Any help would be appreciated

this is unfortunately the new way simult works, theres a thread somewhere discussing the pros and cons of "new simult" and a note about it on jj's site.JJ said that it leads to complications and bugs in other areas of the operating system.

for drum layering my layered sounds are usually assigned in thee same place e.g. a12 simulted to b12. if you build programs in future from a template which already has (blank) pads simulted -it will recorded the midi notes of any "blank layers" which can be filled with actual sounds later. another alternative is to copy notes to another track and use the transpose in seq edit.

I will never understand the pros of the new simult, but if there are any, the cons certainly outweigh them.

JJ has essentially switched it from being "simult note" to "simult pad". so instead of a single note simultaneously playing multiple notes which can easily be adjusted after recording, now a single pad plays simultaneous notes which only works in real time.

I didn't bother installing OS2XL due to the simult thing along with some other stuff I'm disappointed about, but can someone check if triggering a simulted pad via midi records the simulted notes or just the single note? that might be another downside.

hmm.. I wonder if it's really simult note that causes complications or if it's just intermittent problems caused by overhead from audio tracks which led to JJ having to remove simult note?! just a thought!

All i've got to say is it's F#@KED!!!! New Simult is not even Simult, it's like Simults deformed brother. It completely stops any creative freedom from continuing after you have recorded a pad! WHY would JJ do this? if it caused problems it's well worth fixing compared to adding features like chord or arp!
I just really want "old simult" to come back! I love the Quantise Strength, Normalise % and Crossfade Loop so i'm finding it hard to uninstall os XL. I'm so tempted to pay JJ big $$ just to get it to be fixed!!!
Bring Back "Old Simult"!!!!

Peace!
