Hi there,

I'm trying out JJ OS 2 and can't figure out how pattern mode actually works. I enter pattern mode, program a pattern or use some of the existing ones but how do I actually use that pattern together with other tracks? When I switch back to the main view the pattern no longer plays. Also, I see that I can program patterns in grid edit but how do I make them longer than one bar?

Sorry if that's a noob question but the explanation in the manual is not good enough. Also I searched the forum and found nothing that answers my question.

i take it you have already used shift+pattern to get to the input mode? from there simply turning the wheel scrolls through the patterns, placing them on your bar for you to hear as you scroll. it sounds like you are using the pattern edit function, but you need to have overdub on, and the sequencer must be running

1 bar is as long as you can make them, but you can use the >> button to advance to the next bar while you are inputting a pattern

i quite like pattern edit, but the os2xl version sems to have dropped a little of the functionality which is a shame. hopefully it will return

thats just given me an idea! would anyone like to donate copies of their .lpt files full of patterns?!?! ive not created that many so far, but would be interesting to see what other folks have come up with
