Anybody out there using audio track. Going to route my soundcard into my mpc and use Mainstage and Logic 8 and record those sound on to the audio tracks in the mpc.

dropping a macrosample into reaper, stretching a loop from it to a perfect tempo, and dropping it into my mpc as an audio track

i use them only when the sample contains too many elements to chop into single notes and reprogram

I've been putting together a live set by getting my finished mixed tracks out of Reaper, taking out the elements I'm going to play or sequence live (synth, drums), then doing a new mixdown and throwing it in an Audio track. This is super handy in 2XL, especially because of the loop bars feature. I can save memory by condensing the track down then looping sections on the fly. Q-links on the audio tracks come in handy, and setting markers is very cool for this sort of stuff. Allows for some beat-juggling-esque shit.

Yeah at first I was going to loop sections by using different sequences and changing back and forth. I'm glad i waited for 2xl to put together this set. Its so much simpler just having a sequence and program per song and using the loop bars button whenever i want to start having an improv.

Another great thing I'm really happy with is the beefing up of input thru, now i can use my ms2000 live with my mpc with no need for a mixer, mix it on the mpc with a bit of compression and hpf. Simplifies my whole live rig alot. All I've got to worry about is the MPC stereo outs.
