Question about JJOSXL

Can I install the JJOSXL and update from the Akai OS? Or do I need to purchase all the JJOS's and upgrade each until I get to JJOSXL???

The fully correct answer depends on if you are talking 1k/2.5k.

I have an MPC1000 but I don't understand why you need to buy them all? That's like $60 a pop??? WHy can;t you just buy the latest one and upgrade to that???

I understand that but I don't get why you have to get all the OS's??? That is like saying that if I want to buy Pro Tools I have to buy all the previous apps just to get the most up to date? Usually you just purchase the most recent and your good to go, so it is a bit confusing??? But I understand because I run my own business and I value peoples time and effort and understand nothing is free! I am always willing to pay but just don;t see the point as purchasing JJOS2 if I just want JJOSXL???

if iam correct, buyin the " JJOSXL "..... u get every os for it so u can switch from XL to OS1....
BUT, u can use the free trail base, & still use switch, but can't save.... i am kinda new to the JJOS,
since JAN/O9 & on da real, i would spend another 118 USD ( $143 CDN ) on this program....
simply amazing, & that's all i can say.

The $118, or whatever it is around there, will get you all 3 versions for the 1k. You'll need to install the latest OS1 first I believe, and then you can install OS2XL to get the extra features.

DSProductionz: you don't have to buy ALL of them because you have the mpc 1000.
that package deal where you have to buy all of them for $118 is for mpc 2500 owners only.

since you have the 1000 you can buy them seperately & choose the one you want. but if you want os 2xl, then you have to have a paid version of at least os 1 already installed on your mpc.

we get this same question every few days. I don't really blame people because JJ made it real confusing the way he has the payment scheme setup different for the 1000/2500.

You need to buy JJ OS1 first for $49, enter the password. Then, revel in all the glory of JJos Version 1 and how it dwarfs Akai OS and the free version.

Next, you install JJOSXL (or OS2) for free. Try it, if you think it's worth $64, than buy the upgrade and enter password.

If not, then keep rockin' beats with OS1.

I bought OSXL one day after buying OS1 based on the feature comparison and haven't looked back. Having owned my MPC for only a few days before upping my OS, I essentially learned the MPC1000 using JJOSXL and don't have any complaints. 32 audio tracks is friggin awesome! Arpeggio is good as well. I figured out most features within a few days and have rocked some of the tightest beats of my 12 year music production career.

Some features do change location or methodology from OS1, like the Q-link mapping to TC Swing, you now can only use Q-link for swing in Drum Grid, not a big deal (especially when for 2 days I thought one of my most used feature was lost!!)

Buy it! JJOSXL. You won't need another MPC for a while (did someone say MPC 9000?).
