"SYSTEM ERROR" WTF???

Whats up y'all

I was working on my mpc2500 w/jjos1 yesterday and, while performing some simple tasks(navigating step edit, trimming sample , etc...), I noticed things were moving a little slow when i hit 'main' and when I pressed play, a message came up saying "SYSTEM ERROR", i think. Then it would play the sequence but it seemed all fvvckked up and a couple minutes later it eventually just froze on some crazy ass screen with random letters and numbers and question marks in the event time in the top left.

When I restarted( and lost some SH##t), it worked fine but obviously i'm a littlke shook...

any ideas??

are you on the latest version? if so ,next time you turn on the mpc hold the erase key down to do a factory reset(this sometimes needed after a new in stall - i did it myself after a few crashes on os2xl 1.15 and have had no crashes since)

if this doesnt work make a note of what you were doing before it happened, and if theres any weird numbers and letters that come up on the screen when it crashes (knowing these numbers can help diagnose the problem)

if i do a factory reset, will it delete any info or setting or is it only the system being cleaned?

just had that happen to me last night - check to see that your flash card is pushed all the way in.
