When in play mode my MPC 1000 with jj OS2XL does not play longer samples in full, it just cuts them off unless i stop the machine then it will play the full sample.

I have asked every MPC head I know for answers including the guy in Japan from JJ OS and nobody has come up with a solution.

In one of my sequences it has 64 tracks in it, I have a long string on track
44 which does not play the sample in full and cuts it off.

But if I delete tracks 45, track 46 etc it starts to let more of the sample play.

After more research it seems like the problem mat be a polyphony issue:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=115533

So if this is the case there might not be a fix.

But of the 64 tracks in my sequence 24 are running external sound modules.

16 tracks have drum kit programs and the rest of the programs have only one sample in, it's hard to believe that the mpc cannot run polyphony for that amount of notes.

I obviously only have around four tracks running at any one time and the rest of of the tracks therefore are muted.

The problem happens even if that track is in solo mode.

Does anyone else have any other idea's.

Things i've also tried include.

PLAY MODE of a program to NOTE ON, or set R (Release) of ADSR of AMP to 100,

"Mute/stop of one-shot sample" field of the "Track Mute" window set to IMMEDIATE

Thanks for the suggestion but I basically had tried absolutely everything including that.

I have have now sent the problem over to JJ so they can see it for themselves { which they have got back to me to say that they can } i just have to wait and hope they can sort it out.

The problem was in XL so if you had it in OS2 it must be an inherited bug.

From your description it doesn´t sound like a bug at all. The mpc has a max polyphony of 32 voices, note that stereo samples use 2 voices. Try trimming your samples as short as possible, convert to mono if possible and use the mute groups/sample set to mono (as opposed to poly) to save voices.

It may not be a bug, but the voice monitor was only reading max 20 voices.

So I don't think it's that.

Anyway as I said now I have sent the whole thing over to JJ and they are the knowledge.

Let's wait and see what they say it is, then I will have the answer.

I hope it is just something stupid I have done and it can be rectified quickly.

Ok then it´s really strange.

You could try deleting tracks one after the other until it works, maybe that would give some clues.
Or just wait for JJ´s reply.

Let us know if you found sth.

Belive me, I have tried TOTALLY EVERYTHING, plus asked every MPC head around me, had enough contact with JJ, in the end the only way was to send it over and wait and see.

As for note memory, I'm not writing a symphony but yes it could be anything, I'm just going to wait for JJ's answer, I have spent enough hours racking my mind on this.
