Which JJ OS is "necessary"?

I had bought OS 1 pretty much for MTC (Midi Time Code) alone and discovered sooo much more.
The work flow improvements are incredible.

based on that chart, doesn't XL have the same as OS2 but just more stuff for the most part? or is there something drastically different? theoretically an extra 14 bucks means i may as well just get XL assuming it's the same but just has more stuff


Nope, JJ removed stuff in XL, particularly XOX style step sequencing and the ability to edit loops during playback in the Grid, and other stuff I can't think of at the moment.
ahh alright, gotcha. in that case, it sounds like OS2 is ideal, the step sequencing and playback editing sounds ideal
