MPC1000 JJ OS EQ...any good?

Have the EQ's been improved on the os2xl ? are they even worth using ? i figure they'd be decent cause he bothered to leave them in...but what do i know...nuthin'.

eqs are the same. although JJ has added "filter eq's" in the program mode that gives simple treble/bass boost cut, you select it like you would filter type eg. LPF,BPF,HPF,EQL,EQH.

but how do they compare to a low-price behringer mixers' EQ on a 1 - 10 scale ? is it a good idea to use jj's filters and EQs or should i stick to my mixer ?

i havent tried to compare them, i have a behringer mixer - but thats used just for routing not for mixing.

i tend to use plug ins when mixing , the mpc eq's i use just to get a rough idea.

I use the eq's here and there, I usually use the filters a bit more though. It doesn't really make or break a track for me whether I use either of them. If I can boost or cut frequencies in my mpc (or any other piece of hardware that I have) and get the sound I want without having to use the mixer that all my synth go into or without having to use plugins then hell yeah I use it but sometimes I still need to use my mixer or plugs. I try to do as much as I can in my hardware so that I have less work to do with my mixer/software but sometimes I still have to use them or I might use a combination of the tools that i have. I just depends if it sounds right to you, if it doesn't, use whatever does sound right; sometimes it's trial and error. This is all just for a rough mix though and doesn't take the place of tracking out everything and properly mixing the entire track, that I do in Sonar with my plugs, but using the mpc's eq for a rough mix and really getting down and mixing are two totally different things. So yeah I use 'em, they have their place...
