Hi
Elsewhere on this board, I asked if anyone can OWN/copyright/etc. a single drum shot. I dit not get an explicit answer.
1)
But if your site, yoursampler.com, WILL accept drum samples from a variety of sources (internet, sample-CDs, home made, drum machines, synths etc.)
then I have a LOT of useful single shot drum sound in many genres.
2)
And as I said before, I think you should allow Wave PCM (.wav) sample packs in .rar or .zip compressed archives WITHOUT a program for a certain sampler/sample player, because most new samplers/sample players (lots of VST soft samplers) can read Wave (.wav) samples via USB or other. And older samplers can still use wave files by conversion or by simply sampling from a sound card/HD-interface playing back the samples.
3)
Other formats like .aif can only be read by SOME new samplers, so I think personally, that it will be easier for all, if the standard format for yoursampler.com is Window PCM Wave (uncompressed). Or you allow both Wave and Aif sample packs and the link to a freeware batch conversion tool.
You can PM me about those ideas

I think the concept about free samples is great, and if noon can sue you for using 200 ms of snare drum etc., then there is potential for a VERY large and useful sample library.
(Why is typing replys on this side SO SLOW?)
