Very strange behaviour of FX send levels - a hardware bug?

I have an issue with my new MPC1000 & JJ OS2XL.

Everytime I assign a "send level" value to one of the two FX the other FX send level is automtically set to the same value. It is just impossible to assign different send levels to FX1 and FX2

On top of that if I choose reverb for FX1 and then another effect such as chorus or flanger for FX2 the two FX won't play at the same time.

Only the one effect that is currently selected in the program edit field "FX: FX1" (respecitvely FX:FX2) is audible. The other FX is muted.

I am not sure if this is a software bug, as I couldn't find any info on that topic when using the forum's search function. I hope that it is not a hardware issue with my machine.

Not sure about send level, but it never seemed to make a difference to me, but then again I have never used fx that make sense with a send level. If you want to put 2 fx on a sound then you assign the sound to fx1 and then chain fx1 to fx2. As far as I know you cannot actually assign 2 fx to one pad or one program at the program level.

okay, that makes it very clear. For some reason I thought that it is possible to use FX AND FX2 at the same time on one sound.

While you probably should be able to send a source to two seperate FX at the same time (and there are reasons to do this, such as using a LP/HP filter for the sends)... the traditional thing to do is to send to your chorus/flanger first... usually delay next... and reverb last. Obviously you can go in any order you like, but it depends what you are trying to get out of the signal.
