I'm kind of in a deadline situation, will keep searching forum, I need to sync two mpc-1000s together, in a way that they are both staying independant of each other as far as both need to be able to record sequences. I do not want to use either as a sound module, I only need them to sync on tempo when I stop and start them, or stop one and then start it again, I believe that I need to set the mmc but how to do so (I know where the midi settings are located but not how to set them correctly, please help and thanks

I've bought an MPC1000 but don't have it to play with yet, but I would guess you do something like this, after connecting MIDI OUT of the master to MIDI IN of the slave:

1. Go to the MIDI/Sync Menu:
2. Press Mode + PAD 9.
3. Sync [F2].
4. Sync In: OFF.
5. Sync Out: A or B or Both (whichever MIDI input you plugged your MIDI cable into).

on the other MPC (the slave) change steps 4 and 5, picking 1 or 2 as Sync In.

I got this from http://www.akaipro.com/tipsmay09

If I'm wrong someone who knows what they're talking about can correct me!
