Another "mute"- question

Hello,

i´ve searched alot, but couldn´t find an answer yet. the question is:

any idea whats the easiest way, to tell the machine: don´t play specifically loops/samples over a sequence lenght to the next (i know mute groups etc, but it´s to much and complicated).

in the daw (reason) etc., i can select the lenght of a note, ok in the mpc too (note on << lenght of the note), or trim the sample to fit into the length, a dummy pad (also in a mute group?) etc., but that´s to much preferences.

would be great to have a global option: dont play a specifically sample (the most of my sample - 95%) over sequence end forth. when i have 3-4 programms, a lot of samples, it´s probably to lose the overview and find samples that should mute eachother etc. (where am i know? in what program, back to main...)

ps: i dont want to use it live at the moment, i still fight with one sequence 1.

I would do it with mute groups, but you can also use a audio track to do it with. Experiment with it and think creatively.

Just put the sample that you want to stop and the fist sample used in the sequence in mute group 1....

MODE + PAD 10 (OTHER) -> MISC tab -> Truncate duration:
set it to: TO SEQUENCE END

Mute/stop of one-shot sample:
set it to: IMMEDIATE


now when you switch sequences, whatever samples are playing in the previous sequence will immediately stop playing. NEXT SEQUENCE has to be set to IMMEDIATELY START for this to work, tho.

you could also try recording the sample as a NOTE ON instead of a ONE SHOT. hold down the pad until it reaches the end of the sequence and then let go. your timing has to be sharp for this.

when i mute the "empty" tracks in the next sequence, it work

something i do not understand yet

it works. i tested it before i posted it.

...or use the NOTE ON method i described. that works no matter what.
