MPC1000 only reads my memory card and can't load samples

SO I bought my MPC 1000 last year and it was installed w jjos 2 and the 128 internal memory with a compact flash card. Unfortunately, from the get-go, it would only let me save to the card, but it would let me save. Recently, it stopped letting me save any new samples to a program, therefore i can't make anything new with it.

I thought it may be fixed by installing a hard drive and so I bought a 80 gig hard drive from one of the lists and still nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions? Im really itchin to use it again..

few basic questions :

is it a loading (title) or saving problem (post)?

it seems you could save before so i guess your jj os2 is unlock right?

What happens when you try to SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY in a new folder you've just created?

Both saving and loading I can only deal with the memory card. Now for some reason, I didn't do anything specific, but now I can view my hard drive in the mpc but can't load anything on it from the computer. I synched the computer to the mpc and the computer still only reads the flash card.

Also now, after I eject the mpc from the computer( im using mac) the mpc stalls and says "accessing.." and I have to turn the power off/on to get it working again.

I still can't load any new sounds either and when I try to save entire memory to the hard disk, it says "system error!!"

oh, and i just noticed that it says there's 0 mb free and its a brand new 80 gig hard drive..

Did you format the hard drive with JJOS?

how do you reformat a hard drive already installed in an MPC1000?

mode+save. press window button. select device: hard drive.....
press (F2) format
