No change ...after a while it crashes with: Illegal general instruction exeption"

so much for "MPC1000 is small, RUGGED and incredibly portable ." :x

try without extra ram/new-other ram
without hd/cfcard, new os reset, - if it keeps crashing it s defective hardware.
i used to have a mpc that did not work well with jj os.(jj os pushes mpc to it s limits)

is it a china or taiwan model?

Its a Taiwan model. i dont get the white noise problem-only the crashing.
and it crashes ,just standing turned on, without any notice...
I run the JJOS1, AKAI 128MB RAM and 16Gb CF Sandisk extreme 3.
Can it be the CF ? it loads up fine and the MPC sees the whole CF .it has been formatted.

I dont know if its better ,but it says "Made in Taiwan" on the back plate ,under the MIDI connections.

Here is an all new crash! while trimming on a sample, the display goes blank,no sound or control, and the MPC starts flashing "MPC100(128MB INSTALLED)
I hate this machine!

This is rather unusual, seems like a hardware failure. Return it!
