if it gives you the option to save it, then save it.
otherwise when you right-click there must be SOME option like "save target as" or "save link as"
once you've saved it if you can't manage to copy it to your CF card try to COPY it (right-click on it and choose COPY) and PASTE it (go to the CF card and right-lick in the directory and choose PASTE)
if that doesn't work, the MPC is not for you, sell it and buy a tambourine

and just to be clear, you don't right-click and "save target as" AFTER you've downloaded it, you right-click on the download link on JJ's site

That's why I asked you to check which Akai Os are you using in the other thread. There might be a chance the JJ OS .bin can't be read in a AKAI os prior to 2.1X series.

have you heard of punctuation? it would make that paragraph a lot easier to read

woah, what do you mean "send it to the cf card as a shortcut" ?
don't do that
Go to JJ's page and right-click the Download link, select Save Target As...
DO NOT select Copy Shortcut (is that what you are doing? sounds like it)
that should ask what you want to do with the file, choose Save and then click OK on the next dialog that prompts you where to save it. When it finishes downloading click "Open Folder"
you should see the mpc1000_jv312.bin file - if you right-click and choose Properties it should say size is about 728KB, right? If not, you've already **** it up. If yes, you've downloaded it ok.
Now copy the file as I explained before, COPY it, then go to the CF card and PASTE it.
Try those steps, and if the file doesn't show as 728KB after you download it come back here and say so (using punctuation!)

see that sounds wrong too - the .bin file should not open in IE, sounds like you've just saved a shortcut

It's possible that windows doesn't know what program to use to open .bin files, so it appears as a link, after you've saved the file to your cf card, right click on it and select properties to verify the file size, it should be at least a couple hundred kb, if it is, then you're good. fire up the mpc and load the .bin file from your cf card just like you would with a sample. then you'll reboot mpc and jjos will load up
