The synth is a beast... and I'd consider it a pretty solid software replacement for an Access Virus. Apples and Oranges yes... but both exhibit that fuller sound that just begs to be tweaked. It also has some of the most deep software programming I've seen in a lot of synths. But this is my issue with a lot of the NI stuff... Reaktor is f'ing awesome... I kind of wish that they'd focus on making synths for Reaktor and just have that be your one stop shop for everything. Then if you want you can break apart or analyze a synth in there and frankenstein the crap out of it.
At any rate, biggest problem is... the thing is definitely a CPU hog. While it'll run quite comfortably on a lot of computers you can get today, when it came out a few years ago it could crush your system all by itself. Certainly not netbook material (though I'm sure somebody will post that they've got it running on one). So... I'd just be cautious if you've got an older system.
