better than alot of those pointless features on there

he should make a version with direct record and get rid of some of the live based features

direct record is the only reason i won't use jj

you can accomplish the same stuff with the JJOS audio tracks... just record a live session as a drum/midi sequence and then proceed to record it as an audio track by leaving it unmuted...

Maybe I'm missing the point of the live feature, but having a huge sample (lets say the sequence is 16 bars long....typical for me) and I want some keyboarding done at bar 8, I still have to record the sample the entire length of the beat. All I would do is sample what I need from the bass/keyboardist/etc player and place it in the beat manually. Set the quantize to off if you use it.

+1000

There's enough interest in it I cant understand why jj wouldn't include it?

I just got me a 1k. Thinking about returning the 2.5 back to akai os just so I can direct record again. Audio tracks just don't have the ease of use and flexibility that direct recording allows.

I don't know any details right now but it seems the overdub of audio would be possible in a new type of function (not main screen) in a next update. Wait and see.

Excellent! 8)

Then, if only the annoying pause in output when recording is stopped was to be eliminated in some future update...
