mpc with jjos 2xl used as an mpd

hey guys i got my mpc 1000 with os1 v 4.99 and i want to go for the os2 xl but i have some questions and i need some real help.


1- if i update to os2xl can i use my mpc as an mpd? for example i want to use it with reason and also i want to use the q-link's to change the pitch (or creating dubstep wooble bass ) i know i can use midi with os1 and reason because i already did it but i cant map the q link and the samples from pads plays only when i keep my finger on pad
2- is the os 2 xl better than os 1 for live act?

Yes. Set a MIDI output on the current track (bottom right hand corner of the MAIN screen). Set the Program field to OFF. Set your Q-Link to CC, and then give it the appropriate CC number to control the appropriate parameter in Reason. Set the Program field to OFF.

Now, whenever you go to that track, you will have full control of Reason with your pads and your qlinks. when you go to another track, you can control something else (an internal program, perhaps, another sound module, or another device in reason).

If I was you, I'd set it up just the way I like and save it as the autoload.

buy why when i use mpc with reason the chopped samples play just when i pres and keep my finger on the pad?? i dont understand and i cant really play ..can u help me? if you want i can make a video to see my problem

Sounds like you've got your settings in the MP to play "NOTE ON". Off the top of my head, I think you may want "POLY" and that will sustain the sound when the pad is released. POLY for the entire program, unless I'm mistaken.

ok so everything works good now i can use the q links with reason and "one shoot" notes.but what can i do if i dont have enough ram to do my live mix set?? i got 128 ram but i need more . i can make one more session to complete the set but i need to wait to load but when im on stage i dont have time to wait so this kinda sucks . is there another solution or something faster??
