The Big Change

so i use the MPC 1000 and have for a good three years or so and have always used the OS on the machine which I'm guessing is the Akai verson 2.11 (what is says when i hit MODE - OTHER) but now its starting to fritz and freeze when i create a new folder. someone told me to update my os and i'm about to do so, but I just had a couple of questions before I do....

1. Will I lose all the programs and sequences and folders I have on my hard drive right now when I update?

2. How difficult will it be for me to adjust to JJOS (which I hear is the truth) from the akai os?

3. and is this first download on this site the one i should get?

1. You won't lose anything but be aware that depending on the JJ OS you would like to use there will be a part of incompatibility.

2 It depends if you really wanna learn something new after spending 3 years on the akai os and getting accustomed to.

Were we supposed to be hear just to answer YOUR questions (I missed that memo) ? If I knew you were on here I would have dropped EVERYTHING I was doing to help you. We had nothing going on in our lives when your were on the board and I feel responsible for not helping sooner.
