SYSTEM SETUPS is added.
Setups of the present system is saved by the file name of "MPC25 K_SETUPS.SYS."
If OS is changed, setups of a system will return to a default value.
It will return to former setups by loading this file.

A file name cannot be changed.
It will not be able to read, if changed.

Well, I could have replied to the MPC1000 2.20 thread, but since I'm using this version...

SYSTEM SETUPS saves at least MIDI and SYNC settings under MIDI/SYNC - haven't used BEND or BUTTON settings that much yet, so don't know about them. It also saves Master level, MISC. and FOOTSW settings under OTHER. No idea about PAD settings.

SYSTEMS SETUP bug:

1. Save a SYSTEMS SETUP to a card directory
2. Save another SYSTEMS SETUP to the same card directory (does not matter if you change some parameters or not)
3. DIRECTORY error!! occurs every time.

Tested with 3 different cards: original 128 MB Akai, 4 GB Kingston I've been using a lot, 16 GB Kingston that is new, empty, formatted and working perfectly.
DIRECTORY error!! does not occur when saving to internal HD.
Erase + power on does not help.

Yeah that's a bug. By the way this sounds I think you can't have more than one setup saved as only one file can have this exact name. But even if you can only have one setup file you should still get a message to replace the existing setup or to cancel the save, you shouldn't get a directory error.

It would be quite useful to have multiple system setup files. For example I'm using quite different hardware configurations with the three different projects I perform and rehearse with. Plus at home/studio, where I may use different parts of each setup and software sync'd to my MPC, keeping track of the Midi/Sync settings is hard work...

...wait, it should be possible to save a SYSTEMS SETUP per project, if each project has its own folder, shouldn't it? Or simply make a separate folder for each SYSTEMS SETUP and name the folder accordingly. Well...

I don't see why you couldn't have one setup file per project as long as they're in separate folders; a folder just for different setup files would be good idea so they're not all over the place. Good thinking Jungleman this should work. You'll still get the same error though if you ever try to replace a setup file with a new so that bug still needs to be fixed.

Yes. Root or folder, doesn't matter. But never mind, it's fixed already in 2.23

...still, it would be nice to be able to give each system setup a different name...
