Just noticed that sample root note data set via JJ OS2xl cannot be read by the MPC5000, and vice versa, meaning each MPC requires its own unique set of WAV files for their respective instrument/keygroup programs. In addition, if I set standard root note data in Soundforge or similar software, neither MPC can read that root note data (defaults to C3). However, Soundforge will happily recognise root note data set by the MPC!

I can only assume that in addition to the standard root note metadata that all software can read, MPCs must add some propriatory data that appears to be OS specific and required for creation of keygroup programs, and samples re-saved in other software strip this propriatory data out. Does anyone have any insight on this, from a technical POV? I cannot see why the MPC would need anything beyond standard root note metadata to recognise the root key of a sample.
