Any tips on when to use Slice, and when to use NDC?

One thing I like with slice is that when I move the end of one slice, the start of the next is also moved (and I can use the pads to select the start and end). Is something like this available in NDC? With NDC I feel like I'm always scrolling the start and end points a long distance, and navigating between the fields with my right hand all the time.

My goal is to chop up drum loops and rearrange them... advice welcome!

cheers fofr the tip, thats a technique i havent tried yet, but it still doesn't answer m original question... when is it best to use slice, and when is it best to use NDC? Both of them are there for a good reason I assume..

At the beginning you had the regular slice. As you noticed the next chop starts when the previous chop ends. The workflow consists in pressing the right arrow like forever.

Then some users asked for non destructive chop. With NDC you can assign the start and end points freely. You can play and be creative with the chops while building them.

The main drawback is that they are part of the same long sample so there are limitations in comparison with regular slices. Moreover, you can t extract the ndc chops quickly and easily unless you re using a specific software a member created.

You should do a search for advanced tips with NDC. I remember someone describing how he was using NDC, building specific blank programs for NDC and so on.

It s up to you to find what suits your needs best but for drum breaks, Autochop or Nym s divide and conquer are the fastest technic you can use.
