LOOP NOISE
About "How to reduce loop noise" from JJ:
I know the loop engine in MPC is not great for pads and such. However, I tried to understand this note by JJ which might make things a bit better:
http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/loop.htm

Anyone who understands what he means?
I figure he might mean that the loops will sound better if the END point is placed 256 samples before the actual file end.
- But what does he mean with "END:00000000"? END is never zero...

The second part about WAV files from other samples is completely incomprehensible for me.
- Any ideas?

CROSSFADE LOOPS
Anyone who knows exactly how the crossfade loops work. Seems to me the crossfade is performed on the full loop even on long samples. If this is the case it's very unorthodox. It's great JJ implemented crossfade but being able to select how big percentage of the loop to crossfade would be even better.

TRIM PAGE
When auditioning (holding down the pad) and editing START, LP and END volume is immediately decreased a large amount.
This is not the case in CHOP mode.
I find the case in CHOP mode better as you can hear the changes better.
- Is this a bug or a feature?

Hello,

Indeed this is an old obscure graph. I guess he put it online because people regularly complain about loops ( which are coming from another sources) not looping correctly.
I'd recommend ignoring it and always adjust loops inside the MPC by ear.

Regarding crossfade loops the crossfade length is not adjustable. I think it's time to request it one more time.

When auditioning (holding down the pad) and editing START, LP and END volume is immediately decreased a large amount.

Is it the same with FULL LEVEL ON? I don't think it's a bug. It's a kind of aftertouch feature that allows level modulating. It's pretty useful when you keep the pad pressed and you move the data wheel. That doesn't blow your ear :) Maybe there is an option somewhere to deactivate it. I don't remember right now sorry.

He means that's good to leave at least 256samples (or more) after the end loop point, otherwise even perfect loop from editor will sound clicking in mpc.

"END:00000000" here, he's pointing the place on Trim sceen he's talkin' bout, nothing more

I ve just had a look inside the MPC and there is no option sorry. In fact as this "issue" is easily fixed with the FULL LEVEL button, the behavior in regular chop sounds like a bug to me. I m a NDC user by the way.

Actually, full level makes no difference.

Tried that for the first time and with great sucess. I'm amazed I've missed this little detail for so long. I've always kept my END points at the end of the files.
